Fort Nonsense, NJ

Fort Nonsense...it's an actual place!  In New Jersey!

Up on the highest point of the Watchung Mountains in Morristown, New Jersey, close to where George Washington held his headquarters during the Revolutionary War, there are the remains of "Fort Nonsense" a small hilltop fortification.

It's rumored that the name "Fort Nonsense" came out of the fact that Washington only had the troops build and keep the fort to keep them distracted and busy.  Typical Washington, always messing with his soldiers.  I kid.  Apparently the fort was of some necessity.

You can read more about it here http://www.nps.gov/morr/historyculture/fortnonsense.htm.

It's also a fun place to visit if you are ever in my wonderful home land.
